Endnotes

1. Handschinphysa is omitted by Yoshii from his `1992 key to subgenera. For separation from Japonphysa see Yoshii, 1995, 0p.79. If these two are not worth separating, Handschinphysa has priority.

2. Yoshii, 1992, gives a key to the subgenera of Callyntrura, including Dicranocentroides but omitting Handschinphysa (which may be separated from Japonphysa as described by Yoshii, 1995, if the latter junior name is worth separating). The position of some species in his classification is not clear.

3. Yoshii, 1992 includes Dicranocentroides as a subgenus of Callyntrura. If we attach the key to subgenera of Callyntrura it must be modified to omit Dicranocentroides and include Handschinphysa.

4. Unfortunately the subgemera proposed by Mitra and by Yoshii are based on different characters and cannot be reconciled
